Looking for scarf patterns...

Its been a funny few weeks.
I started this New Year with loads of get up and go but it seem to be taking me forever to get things done.
As the weather has taken a decidedly chillier turn I have been looking for patterns & ideas to make myself a scarf and a few (yes...more!) wrist warmers.
I finished these Rose wristlets from Toft. I liked this pattern enormously but would like to try the recommended yarn for this next time. Gorgeous.x
I still keep returning to my fair isle knits book by Nikki Trench, as there was one pattern in particular that I really would like to have a go at.

One of my (many) new years resolutions was to do more knitting as I so love the feel of hand knitted garments. I particularly love knitting fair isle patterns as there is such beauty in their designs.
I've also been trying out a couple of crochet scarf patterns from my own design and this diagonal block stitch is particularly rewarding. Its looks advanced but is really simple to do.
So they are coming along nicely, but slowly...

Also been working on mini teeny hot water bottle covers, I mean these are so cute they could almost fit into a large pocket. I wanted to capture a fair isle design that would be cross stitched on wool.

The kids were bought this delicious frangipane from Paris by our neighbours. Inside there was a piece of treasure hidden in the cake. Whoever discovered this would be king for a day, and wear the shiny gold crown. Oh yes, do you like my glass teapot you can just make it out in the photo. It was bought in the sales. (£10.00 from BHS) I've been after one of these for a few years, ever since I saw this one here.

Enjoying...

Alan Titchmarsh's Britains Best Gardens - This has given me a bit of a nudge to try and get our front garden looking a bit more presentable this year. It reminded me that I actually do quite like to garden.

Death Comes to Pemberley P.D. James - Anything with Matthew Goode in is a winner in my eyes. This is right up my street, I love any kind of period drama especially this one which is based on what happens next from the Pride & Prejudice novel by Jane Austen.

Voyager (Outlander Book 3) - just about to finish this one but decided to have a break from this series and read the Flora Kennedy book next.

Instagram - I'm about 2 years behind everybody else with this, but hey, at least I'm here now.
