More Christmas Cross Stitch

More Christmas cross stitch, some of which will be made into tree ornaments. The bottom pic shows the kids stockings with name labels I made last year.
They are so quick and easy to make, try using alphabet patterns from here.

Tranquil Wrap

I finished this wrap a few days ago and just in time by the look of things.
The weather has changed dramatically and it is now cold and wintery. Brwwwwww.
This shawl exceeds all expectations of what such a garment should be like. It is warm and snuggly. Almost don't mind the weather when I'm wearing something like this...x
My notes are on Raverly here.
Once again it is a free pattern

Christmas cross stitch

There are some great freebies on Pinterest for cross stitching Christmas gifts. I have always loved cross stitch mainly because of the methodical neatness of the process but also because it is so versatile. I have embellished cards, kindle covers, phone cases, hot water bottle covers and made gift tags all using cross stitch techniques.
I love that you can go super large size to cross stitch on wool or teeny tiny on a 32 count linen, all with lovely effects. I also get excited by the neatness of my storage boxes that hold the silks I use for stitching.
However, I wish there was some similar way of storing my wool tapestry threads though, as these are all in a jumbled tangled mess in my plastic storage box.
Not a good look ...!
