Knit Your Own Royal Wedding

Found this book on Amazon  Knit Your Own Royal Wedding. What fun these dolls are...I only wish I have discovered this book earlier then me and Lulu could have played with these while we were watching the Royal Wedding on TV yesterday. Doesnt Harry cut a dashing figure, very handsome indeed!!!

But being a dog lover the Corgi's are alway very cute too.

Hope you all enjoyed the wedding.

Royal Wedding

Best of luck for Wills & Kate.

We will be watching from our sitting room but  dressing for the occasion. Can't wait really we are all sooo excited. We have the union jack flag ready to go up in our drawing room window, then over to a friends house to celebrate for afternoon tea (which may turn into a barbeque if weather permits).

Hope you enjoy the day.

Bunting fun

I got to thinking with the Royal Wedding and all that...that I was going to make myself some bunting for our yard and put it up in time for Friday, if it was a nice permitting!!!.

But the problem is I don't have a selection of high quality individual pieces of fabric that could be made up. I suppose it will also need to quite weather proof as I'm sure once  it is up I'll be wanting it to stay up for a few days--weeks, especially if it looks as good as these pictured.
 I really really like these ones with words on...what a great idea!!! OOhh and also these below, they are lovely for indoor use.
Duck-egg blue/pink rose mini wooden bunting
 I have found this website for Party Bunting ~ Nautical Bunting from deckchair strips a fantastic website. Check it out as there are some fabulous ideas for vintage deckchair fabric. The bunting comes in approx 5.5 metre lengths

party bunting 18 flags in striped fabrics 5.5m long

 great for garden parties or dressing your yacht! Each flag - there are 18 of them - is a different stripe measuring 17 x 20 cms, sewn on to beige and white striped cord with 50 cm ties at both ends. I think I might just have to order myself a piece or two.

If you would like to have a go at making your own bunting and are fortunate to own a selection of gorgeous fabric then follow this link "how to make bunting" it also includes a handy template.

we have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgement;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicines, but less healthiness;
we’ve been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet
the new neighbour.
we build more computers to hold more
information to produce more copies then ever,
but have less communication;
we have become long on quantity,
but short on quality.
these are times of fast foods
but slow digestion;
tall men but short character;
steep profits but shallow relationships.
it’s a time when there is much in the window,
but nothing in the room.

Royal Wedding Wallpaper

An update on Royal Wedding goodies...I have seen this wallpaper from Graham and Brown called Crowns and Coronet which I think is absolutely lovely. The wallpaper also comes with gem stickers that you can apply yourself. I love it!!!

A Right Royal Wedding

 It's not long to go now before the big day for Wills and Kate is it?... and I for one cannot wait!!! We are very excited I must say at speculating what her dress will be like, obviously fabulous (think its from an Alexander McQueen designer). Apart from the dress I have been yearning for one (or two) of the commemorative teapots that are on the market at the mo. I think one is an absolute must to have on the kitchen table (along with union jack bunting)whilst watching the day unfold. Here's what I have found...
Seconds William and Kate Royal Wedding Four Cup Teapot
Emma Bridgewater - William and Kate Royal Wedding Four Cup Teapot
Repeat Repeat The Royal Wedding Kate and William Teapot
Repeat Repeat decided to embrace that tradition and use vintage pottery backstamps as inspiration for their own Kate and William Royal Wedding Teapot.
This one is very witty and is available from

Product Image
This one is probably more in my price range though and it looks lovely in reality, much nicer than this picture. Its from Marks and Spencer and is called the Royal Shield Teapot and has co-ordinating mugs. I am going to see if I can save my pennies and purchase it before the weekend. My mam thinks I'm mad...maybe she is right. Ha ha
Prince William and KaTea Tea Bags
Prince William and KaTea Royalty Tea Bags - These are just the thing to finish off the theme aren't they great?? Their arms rest on the edge of the cup and are decorated with images of the Prince and Princess-to-be. They really make me smile.

And finally for Lulu, just remember...

In Bloom Ankle Corsets - Tatted Lace Accessories

Now then aren't these just wonderful!!!
Found them on etsy and they are available to buy. They are however, very, very expensive but I'm hoping to find something similar in antique lace/tatted piece on ebay to adapt.
In the meantime enjoy......
