July 2012 at Wearholme

I've started reading Amy Winehouse by her dad Mitch, which I am enjoying even though its a bit of a slow starter. I either read loads of books one after the other or struggle to find one I like. Below is cross-stitch kit that I am working on. It was a bargain find by Mr R at a local market and I was a bit dubious at first when I started it as it was 'Made in China' and I wasn't sure of the quality or colours of the threads. The colours are really lovely and very accurate to the pattern however the threads had to be kept short as they would snap. I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.
My 50p cross-stitch buy from the market!!
Below is a lovely tapestry kit given to me by a friend from my Thursday club. Its a cushion cover, worked in long and short stitch and the colours will go perfectly with my new bedroom...so I'm looking forward to getting started with it. I love to work with wools.

Undecorated Mustard

I have a thing about colour. I don't know where it stems from, as I don't have a colourful home and only like to wear neutrals. I wear alot of grey, white and khaki and on occassion fairisle (boy do I love fairisle but i'll leave that for another post!) The way colour works for me is by one intense blast, like a colourful scarf or handbag. My favourite colour is mustard and I have a file on my computer devoted to images of mustard yellow called undecorated mustard. Here are a few of my favourite pictures...
