The first priority is a belfast sink for the new utility and this is where the practicality ends. We have a space at the back of the house which at present is a wash/boiler room and a garage complete with an inspection pit. Now it sounds beautiful but in reality it is cold/dark and damp. It does however have huge potential. Once a partition wall has been knocked down the size of the room is enormous. It is an opportunity to have somewhere to do the laundry and keep washing out of the other rooms in the house. It could be a beautiful area, stylish even...However, I do hanker after the lived in look, something cosy and warm. An inviting area to relax like in a room of one's own...I want to fill the space with an aga, settee, large armchairs and antique pine table and chairs. It would be a room where I would spend my days, filled with natural light and access to the courtyard garden. Ned could pad in and out through a stable type door. it would be cluttered, but homely. I will try and capture this and post before and after pictures as we progress.
